Cocktail Shrimp and Seaweed Salad: a Simply Elegant Platter

Shrimp Cocktail & Seaweed Salad Platter

The advantage of always, and I mean always, having some jumbo shrimp in your freezer and a container of seaweed salad in your fridge is that you can improvise a favorite classic platter in very little time for last minute guests. I’ve never met anyone who didn’t like succulent shrimp cocktail, especially the kind that is bought fresh and carefully frozen by yours truly in an airtight bag. Add to that fresh seaweed salad and two choices of dipping sauce, such as a classic horseradish cocktail sauce and a zangy wasabi mayo, and you are sure to have a culinary hit with your guests. While they are busy indulging, you are free to pour the champagne.
